WHAT DOES THE BODY OF CHRIST SYMBOLIZE?

Have you ever wondered why you have two ears instead of one?

God created us with two ears, not only to be better looking and sym­metrical (equal on both sides), but also to be able to recognize where sounds come from.

The ears are very important to orient ourselves. Especially when it’s dark and we can’t see, they are the ones that guide us.

They also help us to maintain balance. If it were not for the ears you could not make any movement or stay standing up.

The ears are very important, but every body part is important for the body to function well. God created your eyes, mouth, nose, hands, legs, and every other part of your body to accomplish an important purpose.

And when your eye or your hand gets sick, your whole body feels bad, right?

Well, that happens when someone in the church does not accomplish their purpose. Ifa deacon doesn’t arrive on time, or the person in charge of music doesn’t prepare it, or a teacher doesn’t teach the lesson properly … the church can’t function well.

That’s why the apostle Paul compares the church with the human body.

Each member fulfills a different purpose, but we are all important and we all make up the body of Christ. For that reason, it’s important to work to­gether and serve each other.

Christ is the head of the church and the members of the church are the hands, the feet, the mouth .
