«And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all» (Luke 6:19).
MARIA’s SITUATION continued to be serious: prominent cheekbones, extreme thinness, and sunken eyes showed on the outside the inner suffering caused by that terrible disease. Gabriel’s prayers and those of the church members did not cease. God was there, listening to every cry and meeting every need. On one occasion, they received a visit from the church pastor, who could not hold back his tears when he saw Maria. However, she trusted in the promises of God. With a smile on her lips, Maria comforted him: «Don’t worry, Pastor. I know that the Lord has healed me and that I will not die, since He made it known to Gabriel.»
One day, the Row of blood returned with such force that they had to take Maria to the hospital. When the doctor assigned to her case looked at the test results, he could not believe that she was still alive. How was it possible that she could walk? He was astonished. The first thing he did was to order five pints of blood to give her a transfusion, but Gabriel, who was poor, was not able to pay for it. The only thing he could do was pray for the heavenly Father to intervene. And He did so.
One morning, when the doctor on duty arrived, he asked, «Maria, who gave you blood?’
«A donor came at four in the morning and the doctor who came at five o clock gave me the blood,» replied Maria.
«What donor?’ asked the puzzled doctor. «We don’t do blood transfusions in the early hours of the morning, and I am the first doctor on duty. No doctor was here at five o’clock.»
These questions were never answered. However, Maria was discharged and has enjoyed good health from that time on. The promise of God for them was fulfilled without fail and the same thing will take place in your life. Friend, God promises you, among other things, the following:
- To «supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus» (Philippians 4:19).
- To give you rest: «Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest» (Matthew 11:28).
- To give you the future you are waiting for: «For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope» (Jeremiah 29:11).
