b. In the Holy place of the Sanctuary

c. In the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place of the Sanctuary

Have you ever made unleavened bread?

It’s like the bread that Is eaten during Communion. Not having yeast, the dough does not rise, it remains flat.

If you look in  the Bible, the characters always ate unleavened bread, because yeast ferments the dough and therefore symbolizes evil, sin.

At Passover, God told the Israelites to make unleavened bread, remember?  There was also unleavened bread in the sanctuary you can read if in Leviticus 24:5-9.

This bread is known as the «showbread, » which means” bread of the face» or “bread of the presence,” because it symbolized the presence of God among the Israelites.

Every Sabbath,  the priest placed this bread as an offering in the Sanctuary to remember that God was the Creator and that He provided everything they needed. The priests were in charge of making this bread. They made twelve loaves that represented the twelve tribes of Israel.

They placed them in two rows of six loaves, on a table made of wood and covered with gold that was forty inches long, twenty inches wide, and thirty inches high.

This table with the twelve loaves of showbread was in the Holy Place, to the right of the entrance of the tabernacle or Sanctuary.

Do you know who ate this bread? The Bible says that the priests were in charge of eating the bread and replacing it every week.

But once, David and his men ate this bread, although they were not priests, because they were running away from King Saul you can read it in 1 Samuel 21:1-6).

Why do you think that only the priests could eat the showbread? Write it in your Prayer Journal and draw a picture of the table with the twelve loaves of bread.
