b. A house

c. A person with a message

Did you know we think in words?

That’s right, from the moment we learn to read and write, we think in words. Try it out. Close your eyes and imagine a table. You instantly see not only the object in your mind, but also the word with its five letters (TABLE). Thanks to letters we have a much better understanding of the meaning of the world around us.

The set of organized letters in a language is called «alphabet.» The word «alphabet» comes from the first two letters of the Creek alphabet: alpha (a) and beta (P). There are twenty-six letters in the English alphabet, which I’m sure you know very well. Why don’t we review them? You can do it by singing a song if it’s easier for you: a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t,

You may have also heard that this set of letters is called the ‘ABCs.» That term comes from the first three letters of the English alphabet: a, b, c.

Don’t you think it’s awesome how many words, phrases, books . . . can be said and written with only those 26 letters? Do you know what the longest word in English is? It’s «pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanokoniosis,» and it has 45 letters. You can look it up in a dictionary to find out what it means.

Reading and writing will not only help you know a lot of things, but also develop your imagination and educate yourself. You should choose good things to read and write good words that will help others, like the apostle Paul did when he wrote epistles, that is, letters to his friends the Galatians, Corinthians, Ephesians . . . You can also start writing to your friends!

Write a letter to your best Friend in your Prayer Journal.
