a. Slavery
b. Worry
c. Both previous answers are correct
Are you worried about anything today?
Homework, a test, maybe you’re ill or have to go on a trip .. .
Worries are like a heavy burden we carry that doesn’t allow us to look up at the sky or enjoy the blessings Jesus gives us.
Jesus compares that heavy burden to a yoke. Do you know what a yoke is?
In ancient times farmers plowed the fields with oxen because there were not any machines.
In order for oxen not to separate, they were joined at the neck with a wooden instrument that was attached to the cart or plow so they would pull it.
But the yoke was also used to tie slaves’ hands and feet. Jesus invites us to leave the worries that weigh us down and enslave us so that we can rest with Him.
There are people who know Jesus and are always worried, but if you believe in Jesus as your Savior, you shouldn’t worry about anything, because Jesus promises to take away all those burdens. What should you do?
The Bible says that when you’re worried, you should talk to Jesus.
Tell Him about your problems and worried and you’ll feel at peace.
He cares for you don’t need to worry about anything.
Tell Jesus about all your worries today in your Prayer Journal. I’m sure you’ll feel much better.
