a. Nature
b. The planets
c. The stars
The Sun is the star closest to the earth and it‘s the brightest one we see during the day, but do you know what the brightest star that can be seen from earth at night is?
I’m called Sirius and It‘s approximately twenty times brighter than the sun. Have you ever wondered what stars are made out of? Scientists say they’re gases and dust that reach very high temperatures, over eighteen million degrees. The bigger stars also have the highest temperatures and are known for having a bluish color, while the smallest stars are whiter or yellower and they’re not as hot.
When Jesus was born, a wonderful star also appeared. Do you remember who the first people to discover it were? Wise men from the East who studied the Scriptures and loved observing the stars and their movements. Those wise men saw a strange light in the sky. It wasn’t a normal star, it was extraordinary. It was made up of thousands of angels, even though they didn’t know that.
One day, while reading the prophecy of a wise man called Balaam (you’ll find it in Numbers 24:17), they realized that the promised Messiah had been born and they decided to go and meet Him and take Him gifts. By following that extraordinary bright star, they reached an old, humb(e stable in the city of Bethlehem. And they surprised Joseph and Mary by giving them gifts fit for a king: gold, incense and myrrh. Those wise men from the Fast were the first inhabitants on Farth to know about the coming of Jesus to our planet. And it was all because of a star and Scripture study!
Try to read tonight this Hory in Matthew 2. Then find the brightest star in the sky and thank God in your Prayer Journal for having created it to shine and brighten the sky.
