Q: Will I meet Satan before I go to heaven?
A: I’m assuming you mean face-to-face, for we meet Satan 0 every day through the sinful acts we witness and sometimes take part in.
Our friend Ellen White mentions a terrible temptation that will come to God’s people prior to Christ’s second coming. Listen: «In the last days he [Satan] will appear in such a manner as to make men believe him to be Christ come the second time into the world. He will indeed transform himself into an angel of light» (Last Day Events, p. 163).
We’re longing for Christ’s return. Then suddenly someone shouts, «He’s here! He’s finally come back! Glory, glory!»
The Bible warns: «If anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect» (Mark 13:21, 22).
Will we fall for such a terrible trick? Will we drop to our knees before the very being who has caused so much suffering and death in this world? «But while he will bear the appearance of Christ in every particular, so far as mere appearance goes,» says Mrs. White, «it will deceive none but those who . . . are seeking to resist the truth» (Last Day Events, p. 163).
Satan will not take us in, because we’ve gotten to know the real Jesus, the real Saviour, the real coming King
