There, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 CORINTHIANS 5:17, NKJV
One of the most memorable places I’ve visited has stuck in my memory for terrible reasons. Out of respect for history we decided to visit a German concentration camp in Dachau, Germany, near Munich. During World War II our world witnessed one of the lowest points in human history when the Nazis, led by Hitler, captures and imprisoned millions of Jewish people. The concentration camp I visited was one of many different camps the Nazis set up during the war. Regularly, trains filled with Jewish people would arrive at the camps, where they would be held. By the time the war was over and the Nazis were defeated, millions of Jews had been killed at these camps. Just thinking about this broke my heart.
Even today’s, it’s sad to see terrorists hurting innocent people and claiming it was Allah or God who has told them to do it. Walking around the concentration camp that day was one of the saddest, most somber days I remember, but it made me look to the Bible to find hope. Many terrible things happen when countries decide to declare war against each other, and usually the root of the problem has to do with power.
The sad part is that history repeats itself, and terrible leaders continue to come into power, bringing humanity some its darkest moments. My challenge to you as you grow up is to be the kind of person or leader who imitates JESUS. His actions clearly showed that love is the most important thing. Each day we should ask GOD to come our lives. He will change us and make us new and more like CHRIST
