PRAISE BE TO THE LORD, TO GOD OUR SAVIOR,
WHO DAILY BEARS OUR BURDENS»
(PSALM 68:19, NIV).
«Are you carrying something dangerous in your luggage?» -An airport security guard asked me once.
«No,» I answered emphatically, and continued with a sure step towards my destination.
However, the rude and strong voice of the guard echoed in my mind like a distant but inquiring echo: «Ma’am, are you carrying something dangerous in your luggage?» Then I touched my temple as if looking for a new answer. And there I opened the suitcase of my life and began to look at what was in it. Not everything I saw I liked.
There is no doubt that we all have unfinished business in our minds, eternal quarrels with our essence, wounds that do not close, forgiveness suspended because of pride … That is a very dangerous baggage. At that moment, I thought: It is time to put aside everything that slows my arrival at self-realization as a Christian woman. And today I invite you to do that same exercise of faith.
The pain experienced may have served at some point, but it is useless to carry it into consciousness. Longing for the past makes me lose the enjoyment of what I have in the present and the good that will still come. Old sorrows hinder the arrival of new joys. Complaints fed on the victimizing attitude enlarge arrogance, and gratitude is extinguished.
This end of the year is time to check the luggage of life; It is time to leave, abandon, forgive, discard the old sorrows and begin to enjoy the experiences that the new year will bring to your life. Do not look at the penalties; look with the eyes of faith your final destination and lighten the pace. The loads that you are dragging make your journey very slow. Better assume with courage the charges that will come; They may offer you opportunities to test your values, principles, and virtues, confident that God will be your unconditional helper.
In your physical burdens, God will strengthen you.
In your emotional burdens, God will comfort you.
In your spiritual burdens, God will enlighten you.
In your workloads, God will give you energy.
In your financial burdens, God will provide.
In your family burdens, God will accompany you.
