The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, and the time has come for the dead to be judged, and to reward Your servants the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, small and great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth.” Revelation 11:18
Revelation chapter 11 summarizes the conflict between good and evil, and contrasts the wrath of the nations with the wrath of God. The nations are filled with anger against each other, against God and against his people. Hatred will take possession of the wicked before the coming of Christ; They will become intolerant and vengeful. This wrath contrasts with the wrath of God, who will not tolerate evil, and will destroy those who destroy the earth. His wrath will be manifested through the seven last plagues, and in the final judgment that will occur after a thousand years of happiness for the redeemed in heaven.
When we saints return to earth, the wicked will rise again and attempt to destroy the city of God, but they will fail. We faithful will be rewarded with the most precious reward: eternal life with Jesus. God will bring justice to the wicked, who seemed to triumph when their faithful suffered, were persecuted, and things went badly for them. The wicked will be destroyed like tow. That day of final reward will come, and the rewarded will be those who fear God.
Live each day focused on that glorious moment. Don’t be discouraged, wait for the great outcome:
I have seen the tender love of God for his people, and it is very great. I saw angels spreading their wings over the saints. Each saint had his guardian angel. If the saints cried in discouragement or were in danger, the angels who constantly assisted them flew quickly to bring the news, and the angels of the city ceased singing. Then Jesus commissioned another angel to come down to encourage them, watch over them and ensure that they did not deviate from the narrow path; But if the saints disdained the watchful care of those angels, rejected their consolation and continued astray, the angels became sad and wept.
They carried the news up there, and all the angels in the city began to cry and loudly said: «Amen.» But if the saints fixed their eyes on the prize that awaited them and glorified God in praise, then the angels brought the pleasant news to the city, and the angels of the city played their golden harps, and sang aloud: Hallelujah!» and their beautiful songs echoed through the heavenly vaults (Early Writers, p. 39)
