«Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God” (1 Samuel 30:6).

«But why are you going to kill us? What have we done?’ the young man and his friend wanted to know.
They received no type of response, but while the assailants were debating what to do, the young man and his friend prayed without ceasing, asking God to free them from that situation. Suddenly, one of the assailants shouted, «Hey, someone’s coming. Run!»
«Let’s kill them first,» suggested the other.
No, there’s no time!» was the categorical reply.
That was how, in that isolated place, empty and silent, the young man and his friend were able to recognize that God had worked a miracle. They knew perfectly well that the men who had attacked them did not have any qualms about killing them at that time. They would have done it without any pity. However, on that day, God frustrated their wicked plots.
The Bible tells us about a time when David, in his distress, asked God what he should do. God answered him. David immediately started out with six hundred men and arrived at the Brook Besor, where two hundred men stayed behind (see 1 Samuel 30). David had to continue with only four hundred men, but he felt safe, in spite of the fact that his enemies, the Amalekites, were very many. There were zero possibilities, humanly speaking, to get out of there alive, much less with a victory; nevertheless, David knew that the Word of the Lord is more powerful than an army. And that is how it was.
Dear friend, there are times that seem like we have zero possibilities of achieving a Whether it has to do with our character, our marriage, the relationship with our children, work, the church, or our health, it seems that we will never recover peace or the joy of living. However, that is not so. Remember, first of all, to run everything by God. Do not be discouraged. God is God and carries out His commands in the end. David trusted in God and obtained the victory. The young man from my church and his friend trusted in God and that freed them. Trust in Him yourself, too; you have more than enough reasons.
