«Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go» (Joshua 1:9).
I have met women from both groups and, why deny it, sometimes I’ve been a willful person too. The woman with a strong will will «push herself’ to achieve her goals, while the willful woman often «crushes» others to achieve what she wants.
Having a strong and virtuous will has led many people to achieve goals that in the view of others seemed unattainable. Such determination isn’t based on arrogance; on the contrary, those who have this kind of will are able to recognize both their limitations and their abilities and go forward without false expectations, as did Adriana Macias.
Adriana came into this world without arms. Many thought that was a disgrace; but for her, life was a gift that had to be opened little by little. With a strong will and a deep trust in God, she dared to dream big and worked hard to make her dreams come true. Today she is a well-known writer, lawyer, and lecturer. Her feet are her hands and there is no activity she can’t do.
A woman with a will:
- Submits her will to God’s will.
- Finishes the tasks that she begins.
- Takes risks without putting herself in danger.
- Dares to go against the tide to defend her values.
- Makes decisions in consultation with the Word of God.
- Seeks for the meaning of her life in the Creator.
Dear friend, no matter what situation you may find yourself in, discover yourself and value yourself as God does, then defy discouragement and dare to fulfill His plan for your life.
