Do you know the saying that goes “every cloud has a silver lining?”
It’s an old saying that means that something good can come out of something bad.
That’s precisely what happened to Joseph the Bible character who was jacob and Rachel’s son. From the time he was young bad things be an happening to Joseph.
His mother passed away, his brothers sold him to merchants who took him to Egypt and he was never able t0 back home again.
In Egypt, they put him in prison because the wife of his master, called Potiphar, accused him of having misbehaved with her.
And he spent several years in prison because of a lie.
But one day Pharaoh had a dream whose meaning he didn’t know, and somebody remembered Joseph could interpret dreams.
So Pharaoh ordered Joseph to be brought from prison to interpret his dream.
That’s how Pharaoh made Joseph prime minister in Egypt and changed his name to Zaphenath-paneah.
Do you know what «Zaphenath-paneah»means? It means «the one who reveals secrets.”
Even though many bad things happened to him, God was always with Joseph and in the end all the bad things that happened to him turned into blessings for him and his family.
Years later his brothers came to Egypt to ask for food because there was a great famine in Canaan and Joseph was able to help them because he had made a great provision of food in Egypt and he was the prime minister.
What a great change! Joseph went from being a slave to being prime minister.
If anything bad ever happens to you, remember God is always by your side, like He was with Joseph.
God is in control of everything. Trust Him, and at some point, that bad thing can become something good for you and your family.
