Did you know that you’re a «son of man?»
Well, you are, because you’re the child of a man and a woman, that is, of human beings.
In the Bible, God Calls the prophet Ezekiel «son of man» more than ninety times.
The prophet Daniel also refers to the Messiah as the Son of Man, but with capital letters because it refers to Jesus.
That’s why when Jesus said He was the Son of Man, everyone who knew the Scriptures and had read the prophet Daniel knew He was saying that He was the Messiah, that He was God.
That enraged Council leaders, because they didn’t acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah.
However, Jesus liked to be called Son of Man. It’s mentioned over eighty times in the Gospel.
Why did Jesus like to be called «Son of Ban*» 8ecause even though He was the Son of God, He was also a human being. Jesus came to show us His love by becoming a human being, a person like you.
Jesus was born as a baby; He lived and died like a human being.
He didn’t claim any honor for being Son of God, but instead preferred to live to help others and be known as just another person on the earth.
Jesus is one of us! He chose to be the Son of Man and really liked to be called that way. Jesus called Himself «Son of Man“ many times so everyone would know He had come to save us.
