WHO DOES THE BIBLE SAY IS THE OLD MAN?

Underline the correct answer

a. A very old man

b. What we were before we met Jesus

c. both previous answers are correct

Have you ever ended up doing something bad you didn’t want to do?

I mean for example that sometimes you wanted to obey your mom or dad, but you ended up talking back and disobeying.

Why do you think you ended up doing something bad when you wanted to do something good?

The Bible says that a great battle happens within us every day between two natures:

the old nature, which is full of sin, and the new one, which is the one that‘s transformed every day with Jesus’s help.

We could say that the old nature is what the Bible calls the «old man,» the one Satan controls so you will keep on behaving badly.

Many times, even if you want to behave well, be meek and good like a sheep, you end up being a fierce wolf who’s angry with everyone.

I’ve got to tell you that happens to every Christian who wants to be like Jesus every day, but the enemy tries to make us continue misbehaving.

However, if you ask Jesus for help, He’ll help you keep the wolf asleep and be a happy little lamb.

All you need to do is feed the lamb (the new man) more by doing things that imitate Jesus; and not feed the wolf (the old man) by doing things that make Satan happy.

In your Prayer Journal, write a list of what you can do so as not to feed the «old man.»
