Do you live near the sea or a lake?
If you could go to the shore of the sea or a lake during a sunset, just when the sun is going down and about to disappear for the evening, you can see how it is reflected on the water as if it were a mirror.
Can you imagine what the sea of glass was like that John saw before the throne of God? John mentions it twice in the book of Revelation, the last book of the Bible.
Jesus showed visions to John so that he could write them down and we could have an idea of what heaven is like.
It must have been impressive for John to see that huge amount of water that looked like transparent glass!
Would you like to see that sea of glass? Well, John says that one day alt those who believe in Jesus will be standing on that sea of glass singing the hymn of Moses and the Lamb.
But won ‘t they sink? John says that they are standing, so you can walk and run around on top of that sea of glass.
Can you imagine it?
It may not be water underneath that glass, but that is how John describes it.
Perhaps that sea of glass looks like the impressive glass lookout that is found in the Grand Canyon, called the Skywalk.
It is as if you’re waiting through the sky when you walk on that glass.
It’s impressive!
But I’m sure it will be much more impressive to walk on the sea of glass from heaven, don’t you think?
Read today’s verse and in your Prayer Journal, describe how you imagine the sea of glass that John mentions in Revelation will be like.
