Would you like to know the future?
I‘ve got to tell you that nobody knows the future, except for God.
But I imagine He can’t write down your future and the future of everyone in this world because it wouldn’t fit in any book.
Besides, you are free to make your own choices and those choices are the ones that will write your future.
But the Bible does predict some things from the future in the history of this world.
Would you like to learn about those prophecies?
One of the most famous and important ones is found in the book of Daniel, chapter 2.
Many years ago, King Nebuchadnezzar, who governed the Babylonian Empire, dreamed of a statue made out of different metals.
No one knew how to interpret its meaning. But the prophet Daniel asked God for help and God revealed the meaning to him.
The statue had a golden head, silver arms and chest, bronze belly and thighs, iron legs, and feet made out of a mixture of iron and clay.
Then he dreamed that a rock hit the feet and knocked the whole statue down.
Do you want to know its meaning? Each metal is an empire that has ruled during this world’s history.
The gold is Babylon, silver represents the Medo- Persian Empire, the bronze is Greece, Iron refers to Rome, and the iron and clay represent Europe‘s rule.
Finally, the rock that knocks the statue down represents Jesus’s second coming and God’s future kingdom.
All those empires have followed one after the other in the same order and importance that the prophet Daniel predicted thousands of years ago.
If you review the statue, do you know what point in history you are in right now? Write about it in your Prayer Journal and draw the statue from Daniel 2.
