Do you remember how God created man and woman?
The Bible says that our Creator formed the first man, as you well know his name was Adam, from the dust of the ground. God took clay, that is, he mixed earth and water, and with it he created man and then woman. God created living beings to live. But when Adam and Eve disobeyed God, something we called «death» happened.
Thereafter, all living things, trees, plants, animals, and people die.
Death is the opposite of life. So, when a living being dies it stops existing and turns back to dust. Therefore, we can say that they cease to exist; they no longer feel, think, or suffer.
They completely cease to exist. The Bible says that the dead know nothing, that is, they are no longer aware of anything.
Do you remember what Jesus said to His disciples when his friend Lazarus died? Look up John 11:11 in your Bible. Jesus said, «Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that may wake him up.»
Jesus taught us that when a person dies it’s as if they were sleeping and that when He returns for us, He will awaken all who are dead. So, they will be resurrected with a new and healthy body, as He was resurrected. What a wonderful hope!
So, trust Jesus and His promises, and don’t worry about death.
