WHAT IS A CALL OR CALLING?

What would you think if your parents told you today that God had asked them to travel to an unknown place and that you all would be leaving the next day?

You would likely have many questions come up, like the following: Where are we going? Why? How do my parents know that God has asked them to do so? Will I make new friends there?

Can you imagine how you would feel if you had to leave your house, your country, your friends, your school … You must be very brave to make such a decision! But you also must trust God a lot, don’t you think?

That is exactly what Abraham did. God called him, that is, he invited him to leave all the comforts of his home and his friends to fulfill a special purpose: to be the father of a great nation.

Abraham and Sarah had no idea that they were to be the ancestors of Jesus, the Savior of the world.

Abraham could have said no or mistrusted God, yet he knew the voice of God because he spoke to Him constantly. Abraham knew that God had a special plan for him and his family, and he did not hesitate to obey it.

God also has a plan for you. Maybe he doesn’t call you to go away like Abraham, but he invites you to be a nurse, pastor, doctor, teacher or to be a leader in your church.

If you constantly talk to Jesus, He will call you to do something special in this world as he did with Abraham and many characters in the Bible. I Make a list of your talents or abilities to find out what God’s plan is for you.

In your Prayer Journal ask Jesus to help you find the answer.
