Do you know the parable of the prodigal son?
It’s found in the Gospel of Luke 15:11-32. The parable tells the story of a father who had two sons.
The eldest was a hard worker, but the youngest did/t want to work.
He wanted to leave home and travel the world. One day he asked his father for his part of inheritance.
His father felt sad and tried to persuade him not to leave. Since he wasn’t able to persuade him, he gave him his inheritance money and let him go.
At first, he did well, because he had money and found new friends to share it with in parties, eating, and drinking.
He had lots of fun for a while, but when the money his father had given him ran out, he started having problems.
His friends didn’t want to be with him anymore and he didn’t even have money to buy food.
So, he had to start working, and the only job he found was to take care of pigs for very little money.
One day he was so hungry and felt so miserable that he decided to go back home.
He was very ashamed for having wasted his whole inheritance and thought it would be best to ask his father for forgiveness and work as one of his hired servants in the fields.
He no longer thought working in his father’s house was that bad. But he was afraid his father would scold him and kick him out because he had misbehaved and wasted his inheritance.

Ever Since he had left, his father had been waiting for him by the road every day. And the day they were reunited was the happiest day of their lives.
Jesus told that parable to show how much our heavenly Father loves us. No matter how badly you have behaved, He’s waiting for you because He loves you.
