Have you ever stayed up all night?
If you haven’t, I’m sure your mother and father have spent many sleepless nights taking care of you when you were sick.
There are many people who spend several nights without sleeping because their jobs require them to be alert and keep watch.
Do you know what professions I’m talking about? For example, doctors and nurses, police officers, firefighters, taxi drivers, and many others.
In the Bible, Jesus told His disciples to «watch!”
Do you know what that word means? It means we should stay awake and be alert, that is, be ready for Jesus’s second coming.
And how can you watch and be ready for that moment? By carrying out the mission or plan God has for your life.
Watching is all about how you live while you’re waiting for Jesus to come again.
Some people think Jesus is taking too long and they fall asleep, that is, they stop playing and fulfilling the mission of telling others about Jesus.
Other people worry so much about figuring out when Jesus will come that they forget they have to carry out the mission of telling others about Jesus.
Jesus said you shouldn’t worry so much about the date, because only
God knows it. You should only worry about matching, staying awake, and faithfully doing the work the Lord has entrusted you with in this life until Jesus’s return.
What can you do to be prepared and ready for Jesus’s second coming*
Write it down in your Prayer Journal.
