Do you like the dark? I’m sure you don’t!
Have you walked through the forest on a dark night with no moon and no flashlight? It is very hard to see the path, right? You need a flashlight to light your path because without light, you can trip over a rock or choose the wrong path!
You cannot walk, play, cook, read, or do much of anything if there is no light.
In the past, when there was no electricity, people used candles or went to bed as soon as the sun went down, because the house and the streets would be completely dark. The Bible says that God is the light; therefore, darkness symbolizes Satan, or evil, because darkness is the opposite of light.
The Son of God, Jesus, is also the light. You can read what He Himself said in John 8:12: ”I am the tight of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”
Then … what does it mean to walk in the tight? As you interact with Jesus every day, praying and reading the Bible, you get more light, because every day you get to know something else about Him. If you walk with Him every day, you will walk in the light. His light wilt help you distinguish what is right from what is wrong, and the truth from the lies …
Also, if you walk in the light, you will be able to illuminate those around you. You will be able to show them who Jesus is so that they can also know Him, come out of the darkness, and walk in the light. There is nothing more wonderful than seeing the light in the dark, and nothing better than knowing Jesus in this sad world!
Enoch walked in the light. The Bible says he walked with God. He was such a close friend to God, that He took him to heaven.
