Has anyone ever asked about the name of your Church?
Some churches are well known, and it’s not necessary to repeat their name.
However, if you say, «I am a Seventh-day Adventist,» there’s always someone who makes a weird face and asks, «Seventh -Day what…?»
But I have to tell you that right then you have a great opportunity to explain to others what it means to be a Seventh-day Adventist and what you believe.
Do you know what it means to be a Seventh-day Adventist?
Being a Seventh-day Adventist means knowing where we come from and also where we are going. The seventh day, in fact reminds us that God is our Creator.
God created everything in six days lasting twenty-four hours each; and then He declared the seventh day, the Sabbath, as the holy day of the rest.
Just as «seventh day» reminds us of our origin, the word «Adventist» tells us what our objective is: the advent of Christ, that is, the second coming of Jesus.
Do you know when the Seventh-day Adventist Church began?
The Seventh-day Adventist Church arose from those Millerites who, after the Great Disappointment, although feeling let down, continued to study the Bible and await the second coming of Jesus.
Remember that saying that you are a Seventh-day Adventist will always help you to have a conversation, to share with others your beliefs in the Bible and your hope that Jesus will come back for all those who believe in Him.
How can you share Jesus wherever you are?
Make a list in your Prayer Journal of things you can do to announce that Jesus is coming soon.
