Have you ever gone to the beach?
One of the most fun things to do at the beach is to play in the sand, build castles, make tunnels, dig holes . . .
But do you know where the sand on the beach and the ocean comes from?
The sand you enjoy playing with so much comes from the wearing down of rocks, sea shells, and coral reefs due to rain, wind, waves, temperature changes . . .
That wearing down is called ”erosion.»
Erosion forms sand. And the color of the sand depends on the color of the rocks it comes from. White sand comes from the erosion of coral reefs, while gray sand comes from the erosion of volcanic rock. Normally sand is very thin if the beach is very old because there has been a lot of erosion.
Have you ever tried to count all the grains of sand there are at the beach? It’s impossible, isn’t it?
There was once a man to whom God granted as much wisdom and understanding” as the sands of the seashore.» Do you know who that wiseman was?
Would you like to know why God gave him as much wisdom as the «sand of the seashore?”
Would you like God to grant you as much wisdom as the ”sand of the seashore?”
Read the third chapter of the first book of Kings in your Bible and you’ll find the answers to all those questions.
Find some grains of sand and glue them in your Prayer Journal, then write a prayer asking Jesus to give you as much wisdom as the sand of the seashore.
