THE SONGS OF MOSES AND OF THE LAMB

«Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name?

For You alone are holy. For all nations Shall come and worship before You,

for Your judgments have been manifested””

(Revelation 15:4).

The redeemed sign two hymns, called ‘The Song of Moses» and ‘The Song of the Lamb” (see Revelation 15:3). There are similarities and differences between the two songs. Both are sung in front of a sea: the first in front of the Red Sea, and the second in front of the Sea of Glass. ‘The Song of Moses” was sung by the Israelites when they crossed the Red Sea (see Exodus 15:1—21). ‘The Song of the Lamb” is sung by the angels after pouring out the seven cups of the wrath of God, which are the seven last plagues, before the redemption of the saints (see Revelation 15:5, 6). It celebrates the victory that they will see and exalts the Father and the Son, the Lamb of God. In both hymns, three are references to how much God should be feared. The angels, amazed at God’s patience, are glad that injustice and blasphemy will come to an end at last. They don’t understand why humanity did not glorify and respect the name of God, the only Holy One, the Just King, who deserves reverence. And they announce the divine judgment of the unrighteous.

When the final song of the Lamb is sung, will you be in the group that respected His name? Will you join in with the angel choir? ‘Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints!” (Revelation 15:3).

“These heavenly beings, in executing the mandate of God, ask no questions, but do as they are bid. Jehovah of hosts, the Lord God Almighty, the just, the true, and the holy, has given them their work to do. With unswerving fidelity, they go forth panoplied in pure white linen, having their breasts girded with golden girdles. And when their task is done, when the last vial of God’s wrath is poured out, they return and lay their emptied vials at the feet of the Lord. And the next scene is recorded, ‘After these things … I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thundering’s, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth’ They sing the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb.”— Testimonies for Ministers, ch. 62, p. 432.
