«In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, and His children will have a place of refuge»(Proverbs 14:26).
Mrs. Josefina had many problems that overwhelmed her life. In the face of the lack of solutions and in the midst of increasingly suffocating circumstances, she was about to enter into an anxiety crisis. One day someone invited her to church but did not give her presence much importance. It seemed to her that her difficulties would not be resolved with prayers and songs. However, after several years she decided to attend the Seventh-day Adventist church. Arriving at the door of the church she felt a little uncomfortable, since she knew no one. She imagined someone would look at her with distrust. But she decided to enter. She soon sought a space on one of the pews in the back.
She kept feeling strange. After a little while she heard how the congregation sang hymns of praise to the Lord. Her heart was moved and she experienced great peace. From that day on, she continued to attend regular services. According to her testimony, every time she entered the church, the congregational songs transported her to the heavenly environment. They were hymns that exalted the power of God and His great works in favor of His children. After a while, she decided to be baptized. Later, she said to me: «Pastor I am here for the songs. Every time I come to church, I rejoice in taking part in them.
«Would you believe me if I told you that the congregation that Mrs. Josefina was referring to does not have great voices? Then who was she listening to?
What voices did she hear? When the children of God sing fervently, the angels of heaven join them, so the unbelievers listen to heavenly music. les not your voice or mine!
Every time you sing a hymn, the angels join you to praise the Lord with dignity. No matter how out of tune a church is, God Himself has mercy on it to present an acceptable worship in the eyes of the heavenly universe. Therefore, sing fervently, joyfully, and with hope! You don’t know what the visitors will actually hear when they visit your church. Praise God for His great and wonderful works! Do not miss the opportunity to participate with the heavenly choirs from the simplicity of your congregation.
The next time you attend church, praise the Lord for His great and wonderful works, besides, experience the power of singing and allow others to hear the angelic voices next to yours.
