For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. PSALM 91:11, NKJV
During one of my breaks while studying in France, we decided to take a ten-hour train ride to Athens, Greece. The problem was that we would have to cross through the country of Yugoslavia, which was at war. I know this doesn’t sound like a great idea, but at the time I had asked around, and I was told it shouldn’t be a problem. The only thing was that I would only be permitted to go through if I had a transit visa—a special permission that would allow me to cross through the country without exiting the train at any time. I was traveling with some friends, and we decided to go for it and quickly ride through Yugoslavia on our way to Greece. As we approached the border of Yugoslavia, the train slowed down and came to a stop. A bunch of police and soldiers came aboard and thoroughly checked every inch of the train and also checked our paperwork. We had the necessary paperwork, so we weren’t too worried. Finally, the train continued forward again, but an hour later it stopped again, this time in the middle of a field. Again, a bunch of soldiers came on board and did another thorough check of the train and inspected everyone’s paperwork. Soon we were on our way again, but about an hour later we were stopped again. Each time we stopped, we would sit for a few hours while the soldiers checked everything. We finally made it to Athens, but what should have taken us ten hours ended up taking us fifty-two hours. That’s more than two full days!
We were a little nervous crossing through Yugoslavia, but we knew God’s angels were watching over us. Let me tell you, there is no army or kingdom in the world that has power against GOD or HIS people. Ask GOD today to watch over everything you do and everywhere you go.
