FRIENDSHIP
Leonard was one of my best childhood friends. We met in Kindergarten (Preschool) and then attended the same elementary school. We shared unforgettable times together in different activities. Sometimes we looked like little adults talking about current topics, trying to fix the world. Our childhood conversations were very fun because they happened in a special place: the branches of a leafy tree. Our friendship went through all sorts of situations: from fighting over a girl’s affection who at the time seemed like a princess to us, through exciting sports meets, to small differences in matters of political and religious beliefs. What’s more, since both of us had similar family situations, our friendship strengthened significantly. Then we went to the same middle school but were separated in high school. The last time I saw him was during my college years on a ferry trip from Mazatlán to La Paz on the Gulf of California (Mexico). We were both in the same cabin! It was an unforgettable conversation.
I recently had a very pleasant conversation with Leonard on the Internet after many years. Today he is a successful lawyer in Northeast Mexico. Our brief conversation was enough to delve deep in our hearts and unearth dear memories. The best part was discovering that I still had my childhood friend.
I€s hard to understand life without friends. A good friend is a treasure that needs to be valued and taken care of. The passing of time helps us realize what a huge blessing it is to have a friend.
Friendship is a synonym of influence. To choose a friend is to make a bond that will transform our lives.
