While in Costa Rica we decided to visit one of the many wonderful national parks in the country, a place called Palo Verde National Park. We were interested in taking one of the unique tours available at the park that highlighted the living creatures found in the wetland areas. We got our tickets and walked down a long, rickety dock to a small boat. Since we had traveled to Costa Rica during the off-season, we had the entire boat to our selves, along with the driver and a guide.
There are three very distinct things I remember about the ninety minutes we spent on that boat-lots of birds, monkeys and reptiles. Costa Rica is famous for its bird-watching tours, and monkeys seem to be in practically every tree, but I was surprised by all the reptiles we encountered. As we passed near the shorelines, there was no shortage of little lizard darting around on the branches and fallen tree trunks. Above us, some trees were often crowded with several large iguanas that were at least five feet long.
Lastly, in the water all around us there were dozens of crocodiles swimming in the river and basking on the shore. Some of them were big, too! Of course we made sure to keep all of our hands and feet safely on the inside of the boat at all times! The crocodiles were kings of this jungle!
Being a bully is not cool, but many times bullies are that way because they are hurting on the inside. They won’t show it on the outside, so instead they feel that have to put others down around them so they can feel better. A couple of things for you to consider: Don’t seek revenge, and don’t ignore the problem. Ask for help. Lastly, and this may seem strange, pray for the bully.
Remember, the real enemy is Satan.
