SEEING YOURSELF THROUGH GOD’S EYES

“And you are complete in Him,

who is the head of all principality and power” (Colossians 2:10).

YESTERDAY’S DEVOTIONAL was referred to the experience of the young men sent by Moses to survey the land of Canaan, and we focused on the two different perceptions of hardship perceived by members of the group who went out. We mentioned that trusting in God, walking in His path and heeding His purpose, is what enables us to have a realistic view of life’s challenges.

What a marvelous truth! We find the realistic view of what we are and what others are when we look through the eyes of our Creator. When we do so, we acknowledge our origin and this gives us a balanced concept: we don’t look down on others or see them with disdain and indifference, but we don’t overlook our abilities either.

We are God’s handiwork and, if something or Someone has tried to wipe that reality out from your mind, just remember: “Thus says the Lord, who created you: ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior’ » (Isaiah 43:1—3). If we accept this undeserved grace, we become complete women. because God supplies everything we lack. We will be able to treat ourselves well and accept the praise that comes from others, without feeling arrogant and with humility, as someone who feels satisfaction for the accomplished duty.

The result of all this will bring natural joy, which leads us to worship, praise, and gratitude. We enjoy people and our surrounding environment; we also enjoy our possessions and share them, because we realize they come from God’s hand and are undeserved blessings. Furthermore, we rejoice in other people’s triumphs, and we are willing to praise and appreciate their success, which one way or another it can also be ours.

Today, before going to work, starting your routine job or house work, stop!

Take a minute and see yourself through God’s eyes. He tells you: “See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me” (Isaiah 49: l6).
