“And the Lord will take away from you all sickness”
(Deuteronomy 7:15).
A STUDY carried out in 2006 by the Ministry of Health and Consumption in Madrid, Spain, indicated that there is inequality in matters of health depending on gender. It concludes that, even though women live longer than men, through life we get sick more often than they do. According to the study, the reason is the excess of unpaid work, maternity and the stress that it places on our body, the competitiveness that makes us try to stay young, and the abusive situations many women suffer from, among other factors.
In addition to those physical reasons, there are also emotional situations. The feminine nature accumulates emotions, memories, feelings, thoughts and false concepts; therefore, women are more exposed to greater mental and spiritual susceptibility than men, which also endangers their health. Many women hide their physical, emotional and spiritual pain, showing strength that they actually don’t have; they do so to fulfill their role as caregivers, until they run out of energy and break down.
While its true that this is an undeniable reality, it’s also true that the miracle of healing exists. God is the giver of life and health. Maybe we have not taken good care of ourselves, but it does not have to continue this way. In order for God’s abundant promises to be fulfilled in us, we must pay attention to the following advice:
- Don’t ignore health principles expressed in His Word.
- Be careful of your dietary habits.
- Created in your mind, thoughts of optimism, trust and faith.
- Keep your body active through productive activities.
- Take time to rest and enjoy the blessings God gives you.
- Engage in service activities.
- Contemplate nature.
- Enjoy the closeness of your loved ones.
