SAHAN STOLE TRUTH

Sahan dropped to his knees. He must not be caught now!

It was midnight, and the most dangerous part of his plan still lay ahead. He’d come to his uncle’s house to steal a book on black magic. His uncle had said that he’d been reading about the devil lately. Well, Sahan wanted that information, but he knew his uncle would think him much too young to be involved in the occult.

The intruder crept silently across his uncle’s office and paused by the desk He said it was a big book, the boy mused. As he reached into the top drawer, his fingers brushed a large volume. Here it is. Now I can find out more about the devil.

The midnight visitor didn’t stop running until he was back in his own house. For the first time he held the book to the light and read the title: The Great Controversy Between Christ and Satan. «This ought to be good,» Sahan said excitedly.

He started reading and soon discovered that black magic wasn’t the theme of the volume at all. «This is a Christian book!» he declared angrily. «But as long as I went to all that trouble getting it, I may as well read it.»

He did—all the next day and all the next night. By the time he finished, he’d found a new power for his life, a power that comes from God, not the devil.

Today, when anyone asks him how he became a Seventh-day

Adventist, Sahan says, «It all began when I crawled into my uncle’s house at midnight and stole the truth.»
