“PERFECT UNITY”

“Is there no balm In Gilead, is there no physicians there?

Why then is there no recovery for the health

of the daughter of my people?”

(Jeremiah 8:22).

LIFE IN SOCIETY  is an endless, dynamic fabric of relationships. Every child, young person, adult, senior, man and woman weaves with stitches in different ways; however, each one of them is essential and necessary. Children contribute with innocence, curiosity and games; young people project vigor, happiness and vision of the future; adults represent  maturity, serenity and reasoning; the elderly are models of wisdom, experience, contemplation and calmness; men focus on life with natural assents . ness, and women view life from the standpoint of sensitivity friendship, communication and love.

We all represent God’s character!

Isn’t it wonderful? Of course it is!

When we allow this wonder to happen, life on this planet becomes humanized and we all attain personal self-fulfillment. This is God’s Way to achieve a harmonious and satisfying life. Then, why is it so hard for us to coexist? The answer is simple: human selfishness has made us distant, self-centered, lonely and indifferent. Children cry out for their parents’ love and the elderly *8 for a little care of their adult children. They are annoyed by the children’s noise and they in turn are bored by their grandparents’ stillness. Women devalue men and men abuse women. The picture seems discouraging, but it  isn’t impossible to change.

There is a balm in Gilead! It’s everlasting and it’s within our reach. The social fabric is broken, but not hopelessly so. Begin at home by mending, sewing, knitting and repairing broken relationships with threads of kindness, understanding and forgiveness.

Enjoy the presence of children, young people’s daydreams, parents’ caution and authority, and grandparents’ slow pace. Above all, enjoy Jesus Christ’s holy; healing and redemptive presence. And remember that a harmonious relationship between people generates a circle of trust and brotherhood that makes this world a better place.

Jesus Said, “I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one. I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me” (John 17:22, 23, NIV ).

Amen.
