I WAS STRUCK by the phrase I used as a title in today’s devotional. It’s true that many attempt to bring about new light through protests, riots and uprisings; however, this generates more chaos, dismay and confusion. Many so Called revolutionaries don’t promote change; they only create conflict with those who don’t agree with their ideas.
Some claim that Jesus was the first revolutionary that this world has know.
When reviewing His life, I realize He committed Himself, cooperated, acted and brought light and hope wherever He went. His method was love. If you consider love to be His revolution, then he was a “revolutionary,” to show us a more excellent way. You are instructed to do the same, my dear friend reading these lines. Love is the true agent of change. Do you want to promote change? Love as Jesus taught us to love: without partiality, learning to tolerate, being kind, not envious or presumptuous, proud, rude or selfish, thought resentment, not rejoicing over injustice, rejoicing in the truth (see 1 Corinthians 13:4-6). Then you will shine! This is the kind of revolution that Jesus undertook. Let’s follow His example.
There are so many people living in darkness! They need a path full of floodlights from God’s Word and modeled through your example, influence, words and attitudes. Offer hope and encouragement to those who despair and are deeply discouraged. Sweep the dark corners of your home with the “broom” of humility and patience; acknowledge your faults and forgive. Abandon bitter moods, frowns, sarcastic laughter, constant scolding, lacerating criticism, bitterness and accusation.
Be a light, serving selflessly and sacrificially. Polish your character with the “scouring pad” of self-criticism; eliminate every impurity and mental «bacteria» that causes disease, pain and death.
Living without projecting light isn’t worth it. Shine and don’t get tired of doing it. If you don’t radiate Christ’s light, you have failed. Homes, businesses and nations need women to light them. To achieve this, make use of your abilities and talents, but mainly use God’s wise counsel. this is the secret to be on this earth shining for eternity.
