When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, ‘Who is this?’ The crowds answered, ‘This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee’ » (Matthew 21:10, 11).
I have a friend. Can you guess His name?
He’s someone I love, and He loves me just the same.
He keeps me company, at home and at school. Some people don’t believe in Him, but I think He’s really cool. He knows all my secrets, but He’d never tell a soul.
He holds my hand when I’m scared and keeps me warm when I’m cold.
He shares my smiles, my laughs, and my sorrows.
He shares my dreams and my hopes for tomorrow.
He tries to keep me on the right path. He picks me up and puts me back.
And when I stray, He doesn’t laugh. He helps me in the areas in which I lack.
He’s made so many promises, and He even keeps them all.
He never forgets one, whether it’s big or small.
He’d love to be your friend too. He knows no one is more special than you.
He’d love to come along, you know. But where uninvited,
He won’t go.
Have you guessed yet who could be my amazing friend?
Or has this all passed by you, even though you’ve read to the end?
I want to thank you for playing along with this game,
And if you listen closely, I’ll spell out His name—J-E-S-U-S.
