Daily Devotions for Juniors 2020

MORE FRIENDS

Q: I’m wondering how I can have more friends. I’m not popular in my school. I’m thirteen.

A: I once heard it said: «Friendship is heaven, and lack of friendship is hell.» We all need friends. Here are a few suggestions as to how to have more of them.

Be friendly to everyone. You’ve probably heard the cliché «To have a friend, you have to be a friend.» It has a lot of truth to it.

Focus on them. You’ll never hurt for friends if you ask people questions about themselves. Ask just about anything: «What’s your favorite ice cream? What’s your favorite TV show? How can I get better grades, like you?» Everyone loves to share their opinion. Let them give it to you.

Be yourself. Too many kids try to be someone they admire. If you’re a nerd, be a nerd. It doesn’t matter who you are—just be genuine.  Karl Haffner
