LIKE THE LIGHT OF DAWN

«The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day»(Proverbs 4:18, NIV).

A PHENOMENON KNOWN as the aurora borealis can be seen mainly in polar regions. Some tourists visit these regions between the months of October and March to see the beautiful luminescence that shines in the middle of the night. This intense light of various spectrums at times resembles the dawn, which bathes the sky with its orange light just before the complete rising of the sun every day. What a beautiful spectacle! It is interesting that Proverbs 4:18 describes the path of the righteous as being «like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the fill light of day» (NIV).

It is what we were talking about in yesterday’s reflection: the Christian path is a path of continuous progress. Thus, as every morning the light begins to appear in the sky gradually, at first almost imperceptibly, but becoming more and more intense until it can be seen perfectly, the same thing happens with the Christian life. The knowledge people have about Christ increases more and more as they study His Word, pray, and have a relationship with Him, so more light shines on their path. At the same time, more light also radiates from Christian people, since they are reflecting the principles and values Of the gospel in their way of living.

The Bible clearly says that the righteous are those who are upheld by Jesus every day (see Psalm 37:17); those who follow Him in how they live (see Hosea 14:9); those who not only hear His law, but also obey it (see Romans 2:13) and those who live by faith (see Romans 1:17).

Dear friend, we live in the darkness of the end times. Evil reigns, love has grown cold, selfishness is the norm it is precisely these times in which people of faith in Christ need to shine for Him, because it is through them that a world that perishes in darkness will have an opportunity for salvation. May your light be like the light of the dawn, increasingly more powerful, so that they can return to the Lord through your influence on their lives. What a great privilege you have before you today.
