LIKE DIAMONDS

“Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction”  (Isaiah 48:10).

GROWING DIAMONDS IS AN incredibly extraordinary process. It’s amazing how a piece of rock that looks like carbon, without any apparent value, becomes a gem of inestimable value when it  apparent value, when it undergoes extreme 5, 432 degree heat and is placed under a tremendous pressure.Another other astonishing fact is that only about a carat of diamond is extracted from ten tons of carbon rock.

The word “diamond” comes from the Greek’ adámas, which means in- vincible or unalterable; this is precisely the way a tiny piece of diamond is: indestructible! It could be said that a diamond is found twice: once when it’s extracted from the mine, as a piece of rough, unpolished and unattractive black rock, whose value isn’t obvious to the eye; the second time is when it’s in the diamond cutters hands, where its polished and refined; then, it becomes an astonishing beautiful thing which value is obvious to those who see it.

Because of some situations in your past life, you might feel of little value like a black rock of no apparent value; nobody notices you or the great beauty you have inside. If there are traumatic episodes in your life story; abuse, poverty or illnesses, in His infinite kindness, God can turn you into a beautiful diamond.

God is the great polisher; when you meekly surrender yourself into His hands, you only have to wait for Him to do His work and finish it, even if there’s pain and suffering in the process.

In every situation I encourage you to think, “Your hands have made me and fashioned me. Those who fear You will be glad when they see me” (Psalm 119:73, 74).

When the process is over, you’ll become a mature woman in Christ, ready to shine for those who feel dull and worthless.

Your sparkle will attract them to Christ, because Christ is the One who shines through you.

May your prayer this morning be, “I’m still in the divine Polishers hands; and although I feel the pain and crucible of trial, His hand touches me and His love encourages me anew.

Very soon I’ll come out of His divine hand as a beautiful jewel, a princess soul, a daughter of the Lord born in the depths of His heart.”
