Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding. PROVERBS 3:5, NKJV
The school I studied at in France was just across the border from Geneva, Switzerland and the magnificent Lake Geneva. One weekend I decided to go hitchhiking along the northern edge of the lake to a beautiful town called Montreux. When hitchhiking, it’s rare to get picked up by someone going all the way to the same destination you are going to. Usually you get there by getting a ride with several people along the way. During one of my car rides to Montreux, something unexpected happened—the person driving the car got into a small «fender bender» accident. I felt bad for the driver, but then I felt worse when I discovered who he had gotten into an accident with. It was with the police! Not good.
It took awhile for him to sort out the mess, and even though I really felt like getting out of the car and continuing on my journey, I stayed there in the passenger seat as if to support him during this situation. Eventually I made it to Montreux and back. The following weekend I decided to go out for another hitchhiking tour; this time my goal was to get to a town about an hour away that was just over the Italian border. Eventually I made it to Italy, but you’ll never guess what happened in Italy. The driver I was riding with got into a «fender bender» with the police! I couldn’t believe it! What are the chances of that? Two weekends hitchhiking. Two accidents. Both times with the police! It’s pretty rare to be in an accident, and it’s even rarer to be in an accident with the police. It’s even more rare to do that two weekends in a row!
Life can be full of surprises. Sometimes things happen and we do not understand why, but GOD is all-powerful and all-knowing and the BIBLE says we should trust HIM with all our hearts.
Will you trust your life to GOD today?
