Do you like to pretend you’re a spy?
Finding clues and watching something closely to investigate it is lots of fun, right?
Spying is a very old game, and ancient people used to spy on their enemies without them knowing it. Did you know the children of Israel sent twelve spies to explore the land of Canaan? After having spent fifteen months in the desert from the time they left Egypt, the children of Israel could see Canaan‘s mountains and valleys. But before reaching Canaan, God told Moses to send a spy from each tribe in Israel, for a total of twelve spies. Why? Because they needed to know how many cities there were, what its inhabitants were like, whether the land produced good fruit, if there was enough food for their cattle, and many other things.
The twelve spies got ready, said goodbye, and went into Canaan. They came back six weeks later. But they came with bunches of grapes that were so heavy that two people had to carry them, and baskets full of delicious fruits that were so big the Israelites were amazed. Aker seeing the fruits, they were all tooling forward to living in Canaan. Joshua and Caleb, two of the spies, talked about how good the land was to live in. However, the other ten explorers began to discourage everyone, because they said the cities had walls and they would never be able to get in, and that the inhabitants were giants. Even though Joshua and Caleb tried to convince them that they could defeat the giants and bring down the walls with God’sod‘s help, the people began to complain to Moses. They told him, “Why is the Lord taking us to this country? Let’s go back to Egypt! “(you can read about it in Numbers 14:3, 4).
In the end, God said that all the adults, except for Joshua and Caleb, would not enter into Canaan, because they hadn’t trusted in Him.
