«All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work» (2 Timothy 3:16, 17).
THE BIBLE has been called by many «the Book of books.» It’s recognized as the world’s best-selling Book and has stood the test of time. Those who have tried to remove it from the face of the earth have only succeeded in promoting it. The incredible thing is that, despite its broad dissemination in every corner of the planet, very few actually read it every day. Another curious thing is that some people are convinced that the Bible is a book that brings good luck, although they don’t read it, they give it a special place in their homes. It’s also astonishing that in the home of many believers there are more than two or three copies of the Bible but they very seldom read them. They simply accumulate dust in a corner of the house.
What about you, dear friend, who are reading these lines? How many Bibles do you have in your house? Each member of your family probably has a copy, but this is no guarantee that they will read it and follow its teachings.
The Bible is the Word of God and we must read it with eagerness. A little bit here and a little bit there, as the counsel says, so that we may have a full and satisfactory life. And not only that, but its reading will also guide us to our final destination.
The Bible is the Book given by God. It’s not just an instruction manual for living, but a love letter. On each of its pages we find wonderful revelations of a selfless love that surpasses human understanding.
We all find it to be the best psychology book with instructions for mental health. Reading it also tells us how to enjoy whole physical health. And above all, it reveals us God’s personality, which is calm, loving, and tender. The Lords ears are never closed to our needs and His eyes keep watching over us, even if we can’t see Him.
Before you start your day, dust off the Holy Book you keep on your shelf and take time to read some of its pages. Ask for understanding to receive the counsel He has for you today.
