«You heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me, and I will be saved, for you alone do I praise you «(Jer. 17:14)
I am blessed to have friends; one of them is Delcia Reid, a great human being that I admire. Delcia is a psychologist and helps many kung na people to get closer to Jesus, the Physician of the body and the emotions. One day, Delcia was in her clinical practice at the Office of Women (OFIM), which promotes the protection and care of women in Costa Rica. A woman entered his office who could not stop crying. Delcia, to herself, cried out to God: «Lord, give me your wisdom to help her.» Moments later, the woman regained her speech and began to tell her story.
Delcia prayed a second time: «Lord, give me wisdom from Heaven.» And he proceeded to ask him a question: «Do you believe in God?» Yes, he was a believer. So Delcia suggested dividing her visits as follows: half an hour for psychological therapy and half an hour to read the Bible. When he explained what the Bible says about the state of the dead and the resurrection, the woman began to feel relief and finally found peace and forgiveness.
Delcia continues to be an instrument for many people disillusioned with life to discover the power of God and see their entire concept of the world transformed. I believe that we too can contribute to bring a ray of hope to those with a sick heart, letting them know that God heals and saves.
First, we have to believe it; then tell it. You dare?
