«But He answered and said, ‘It is written,
«Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God» (Matthew 4:4).

«Of course. Come see me,» I said.
The situation was very clear: they had nothing to eat. When Guillermo came to my house, he brought three young children with him. The youngest could barely walk. Her little booties were full of mud due to the long eight hour journey they had had to make. The first thing Guillermo told me was: «We would like to sleep in a house today.» «Of course,» I assured him.
I took the four of them into my home and they were able to take a hot water bath. the children’s eyes fixated on the bread and the food I served for dinner. were obviously very hungry. I said a quick prayer so that they could eat as soon as possible; but Guillermo, in his own language, wanted to pray too. He was probably pleading for his daughter, and his prayer lasted more than two minutes. Guillermo had his priorities very clear: first, pray to God; then eat. And that being that he was hungry, very hungry.
Are your priorities clear? For example, how do you relate to Matthew 6:33: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you”? Is that the first thing you seek, the kingdom of God? And do you then manifest it in a righteous way of life? And finally, do you trust that the rest is in the hands of the Lord, who knows what you need before you ask it of Him? What a wonderful way to live that is living by faith.
For me, that experience with Guillermo was a wake-up call that I needed. Enough of worrying about the material things and making my physical bread the highest priority. The most important thing is my relationship with God.
