“Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, for I delight in it» (Psalm 119:35).
THERE ARE MANY circumstances, some imaginary and others more real, that have led many women to wish they were men. Contempt for the typical feminine traits isn’t only the consequence of what’s called male chauvinism, but also the result of a low appreciation of our own nature and all the excellence that comes with it. Of course, women have the right to live with dignity, and this divine gift should be rescued from within us. If we underestimate what we are, if we don’t value ourselves, if we don’t celebrate our successes and our virtues, the struggle for equality will not give much fruit.
It is time to recognize what we are and learn to enjoy life from the feminine point of view.
Intuitive by nature, women can notice dangerous ground and avoid walking on it, which will save them from many physical, emotional, and spiritual setbacks. Detail-oriented and clever, we can create beauty where there is perhaps little to be seen; that includes us in our personal grooming.
Emotional and sensitive, we can laugh and weep when we are with those who are happy and those who are suffering; we can give affection and express what we feel without a mask.
Directed to the here and now, our practical nature allows us to deal with an agenda of activities with promptness, agility, care, organization, and precision, something that’s very difficult for many men.
Romantic and loving, our physical contact with our husband must be warm, tender, pleasant, and not simply a cold sexual relationship without connection.
Drawn to interpersonal relationships, we are good companions, friends, girlfriends, mothers, and wives. Ready to listen and talk, we touch the hearts of others, thus transforming ourselves s into motivators, counselors, and guides while we practice a ministry similar to that which Jesus had when He lived among men and women of His time.
Maternal and tender, we are empathetic caregivers of children, the elderly, animals, and nature.
The pleasure of being a woman begins by thanking God for the way He made you and ends by showing to yourself and others that life seen from the body and mind of a woman is wonderful and gratifying.
