BEING SINGLE AND ITS PRIVILEGES

“But even if you do marry, you have not sinned;

and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned.

Nevertheless such I will have trouble in the flesh,

but I would spare you”

(1 corinthians 7:28)

LADIES WHO remain single have the privilege of choosing their way and where they want to go; in other words, they are free to set their own goals, both in their social and professional life. If they’re smart, they will make good use of their resources and will be able to extend their wings to fly wherever they want.

Single women can choose a rhythm of development according to the most comfortable and convenient pace for them, and they can change course if they want to, without affecting anyone by their decisions. They also have the privilege to do what they like most: to extend their social life with lots of friends, travel, have hobbies, not forgetting the most valuable thing which is serving the Lord more broadly.

Regarding the phantom of loneliness, which many perceive as a threat, let’s first remember that loneliness isn’t necessarily being alone; you can feel lonely while being with someone. Christ’s presence in our daily lives makes us feel safe and happy in the present time and confident in the future. God’s absence brings a lonely, empty and boring life.

A single woman, without any kind of pressure, can do great things for other women. By doing so, her degree of life satisfaction will rise up to incredible levels. To abandon others is to abandon ourselves; to forget others is to forget ourselves.

A mistaken idea that inspires women to try to ‘find a husband” is that her financial standing will be solved. Some believe that marriage will free them from the need to work for a salary because husbands have the obligation to provide for all their needs. Sometimes they don’t realize that when they get married they will be heading a family where unpaid work begins It dawn and ends late at night.

We need to understand that true safety doesn’t lie in having a husband with a good job, but rather in placing our faith in God’s promises, who will “supply all your need according to His  riches in glory by Christ Jesus» (Philippians 4:19).
