So overflowing is his kindness toward us that took away all our sins through the blood of his Son, by whom we are saved. EPHESIANS 1:7, TLB
In yesterday’s devotion, I told you about our long and challenging trek to reach a unique place in China. We managed to hail several taxis but couldn’t tell them where we wanted to go. I did not speak their language, and they did not speak mine. Since I speak a few languages, I tried all of them to see if one driver could understand any of them, but none worked. I finally had an idea. I pulled out my travel journal and began to draw a picture of where we wanted to go. I’m not an artist, but he was able to understand my sketch, and soon we were finally on our way out of the city. In the distance I could see our final destination!
Soon we were dropped off at the edge of the Li River, and we boarded a low, flat boat and headed upriver. To our joy and delight, we had finally made it to our destination! We were now surrounded by the mysterious limestone mountain formations of the Li River valley!
The entire journey from the airport in Hong Kong to the Li River boat had been done all in the same day! It was an amazing journey with many steps and challenges along the way.
That day we rode on trains, cars, boats, buses, trams, and airplanes in order to reach our destination.
God has invited each one of us to an amazing destination-heaven. But since we had fallen in sin, there is a penalty to pay. The good news is that JESUS took away our sins with His blood; it’s as though He paid the price for our ticket to heaven. We don’t have to buy any tickets or draw pictures of our destination. Everything has been paid for, and all we have to do is accept this free ticket.
Will you accept this free ticket today?
