Q:I can’t imagine myself living up there in heaven forever.I just don’t get it.
A:It is hard to imagine living forever, especially when we are still in a world in which people tell us that «all good things must come to an end.» It’s like going to a birthday party and having so much fun that you don’t want it to end. Well,in heaven the good times will never end!
Recently we heard a pastor say that when he was in fifth grade he asked his teacher how long eternity is. She told him to picture a seagull taking a drop out of the ocean once every 1,000 years. By the time the ocean gets dry, she said, that will be the first second of eternity.Maybe you’re wondering,
How am I going to keep busy forever?Won’t I get bored? Don’t worry. You will find loads of fun things to learn about and discover. The Bible tells us that «eye has not seen, nor ear heard, . ..the things which God has prepared for those who love Him» (1 Corinthians 2:9, NKJV). . That’s true of heaven the Bible just gives us an occasional glimpse into what our future home will be like.
Finding out about heaven will be sort of like opening up wrapped presents on Christmas Day-a surprised! But we do know that heaven will have no pain, no sickness, no disappointment, no arguments, no tears-just one hundred percent happiness all day, every day. And the best part is we’ll get to live forever with Jesus. Art and Part Humphrey
