I WILL TEACH YOU

The LORD said to [Moses], ‘Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the LORD? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say’ » (Exodus 4:11, 12).

Moses didn’t want to face Pharaoh to demand the release of God’s people, who’d endured slavery in Egypt for generations. But God had other ideas. In the above verse He was saying, «Hey, Moses. I could’ve created you deaf and blind, but I didn’t. I gave you a mouth and eyes so you can use them in service to Me!

«One of the first things we did at the Evangelistic Center in Osaka was hold a series of revival-type meetings. Every student missionary had to prepare a sermon as well as help out in the music and promotion departments. I played the piano and organ, so making a joyful noise to the Lord was not a problem. But preach a sermon? In front of a bunch of people? Me? “You can do this,» Bruce, our student missionary leader, encouraged. «Just let the Lord speak through you.

«Speak through me? How do I do that?

When the big night arrived, I delivered my sermon, wondering if anyone was interested in what I was saying. After the meeting, several of my students came to me and said, «Charles, you really helped me understand God better. Thanks. «That’s when I knew they hadn’t been listening to me at all. No, they’d been hearing what God said through me. I’d rattled their eardrums. But God had touched their hearts.
