WHEN NOTHING IS ENOUGH FOR YOU

«The righteous eats to the satisfying of his soul, but the stomach of the wicked shall be in want» (Proverbs 13:25).

Lucifer lacked absolutely nothing. However, he inexplicably allowed the seed that destroys an individual’s optimal condition to enter his mind. That is, the seed of dissatisfaction. Suddenly, everything he had didn’t seem like much. He was no longer satisfied in the midst of that perfect environment, as part of a model society and enjoying the best privileges. But that’s how dissatisfaction is. It makes you feel miserable in the midst of a very pleasant situation.

Lucifer lost the purpose of his existence. Now he felt frustrated. He was no longer happy. The same activities that gave him deep satisfaction before were now disappointing. The loss of meaning started to make him feel unacknowledged, despised and ignored by the inhabitants of the heavenly kingdom, especially by the heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Strong resentment for certain attitudes toward Jesus, which he interpreted as «injustices,» began to grow in his heart. It was no longer enough for him to have a privileged position in the heavenly courts, to have talents, or the admiration he enjoyed from the angels, seraphim and cherubim. Now he wanted more. The divine presence started being a source of discomfort, dissent and criticism.

That skillful, beautiful being became the heavenly Father’s adversary. His heart filled with hate. Resentment turned into the driving force of his actions. Dissatisfaction became his main characteristic. Since then, he tried to destroy the happiness of all other created beings. If he wasn’t happy, why should they be happy?

Today he sows the seed of dissatisfaction in millions of young people’s lives. He convinces them to have attitudes that make them deeply unhappy, like he is. He makes them uncomfortable with the color of their skin, the features of their faces, their height; he makes them feel miserable because of their ethnic origin; he motivates them to disdain everything that used to make them happy: their family, their friends, their church. He also fills them with obsessive covetousness toward what others have: money, cars, clothes, pleasure and popularity. There are even some who are obsessed with sex. It’s never enough! Something is always missing.

Feel satisfied with what God has given you today. Enjoy what you have. Accept yourself as you are. Happiness is a gift from God, but accepting it is a decision that’s in your hands today. Don’t let anyone take it away from you!
