«Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.» MATTHEW 7:7, NKJV
On a recent trip through Arkansas with my family, we stopped by the Crater of Diamonds State Park—a place you can go and pay a few dollars and they let you enter a big area where diamonds are commonly found. Whatever you can find is yours! Wow, that sounded pretty fun! I plugged it into the GPS, and we were on our way. We arrived and paid a small fee and rented a few simple tools to help us dig. It was exciting to know we were digging for treasure! During every moment we were there digging, we felt like at any moment we could find a giant diamond!
We were there for a couple of hours, digging in the dirt and searching around for those small, elusive, and precious rocks. It was fun digging around, and my boys had fun knowing somewhere nearby, the next big diamond was waiting to be discovered! Unfortunately, we ran out of time, and we needed to keep going on our journey. We did not find any diamonds, but we found several other cool-looking rocks. A staff geologist working there identified what we had found. Several of the rocks were nice looking, but they were all pretty common rocks such as quartz. Even though we didn’t find any «treasure,» we had a great time looking. A week later, in the national news, we heard about a boy who found a diamond in that exact same place we had been digging! The reports said it was valued around fifteen thousand dollars! We had been so close!
GOD loves us so much that HE has many wonderful treasures in store for us, but how do we find them? He tells us plainly in the BIBLE that we are to keep asking, to keep seeking, and to keep knocking. In other words, pray for all things big and small! GOD is listening to you today. What will you ask HIM?
